So proud of our hardworking academic teams. It’s taken a lot of after-hours practice sessions to get to where we are, and all that sacrifice proves that working hard pays off! Full regional meet results are on the Moulton High School - Home of the Katz and Kittens page, and I’m grateful to have coached these contestants who are headed to the state meet: Cindy Tortoledo- 1st Copy Editing; Leslie Juarez- 2nd Copy Editing; Emily Perry- 1st Headline Writing; Julianna Buehring-3rd Spelling; and the rest of the 2nd place Spelling team members who are the current Wild Card team to the state meet, Angelica Manzano-4th; Leslie Juarez-6th; and Oscar Lugo. (Still waiting on 2nd place team scores from Regions 2&3.) My journalism team was second at regionals too. Emma Buehring is a first alternate to state after placing 4th in Editorial Writing, and Torin Langston is a second alternate to state after finishing 5th in News Writing. These two freshmen have a lot to look forward to! Congrats to the 12 MHS students who will compete in Austin May 5-7 and to the coaches and students who helped Moulton accrue 222 points to be the current leaders for the academic regional championship, crossing our fingers that a few more will tag along after Wild Card results are in, and wishing them all a restful weekend as we’ll all get back to after-school practice sessions come Monday!!! It’s an understatement to say that MHS had an awesome day at Regionals! #MoultonProud and #statebound2022!!!--
